Multi-channel Caliper Inspection

High-Precision Geometry Inspection

Detailed characterization of geometric deformations and mechanical anomalies.

The multi-channel caliper pig is an inline inspection tool specifically designed to measure internal geometry. This device enables the detection, sizing, and precise localization of geometric changes and mechanical defects—such as dents, ovality, wrinkles, and localized wall deformations—with exceptional accuracy.

Equipped with independent radial measuring fingers distributed circumferentially, the caliper pig maps the entire internal surface. During its run, any deviation in the inner diameter is recorded along with its clock position and precise distance from the launch station, allowing operators to quickly locate anomalies in the field.

Additionally, multi-channel caliper pigs identify and record the location of pipeline features (including valves, tees, bends, and changes in wall thickness). They are fully operational during both pre-commissioning phases and routine pipeline operations.
